PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW WHEN AN INJURY OCCURS ON THE ICE
1- Pick up the telephone located in the penalty box and dial extension 6936.
2- Tell the client service attendant that a player is injured on the ice.
3- Be specific on where the injured player is located (on the ice, dressing room, etc.).
4- The client service attendant will radio the Senior Operations Attendant telling him that there is an injured player on the ice (or dressing room).
5- The Senior Operations Attendant will go to give first aid to the injured player with his first-aid kit and his radio.
6- If the Senior Operations attendant needs Protection Services agents or an ambulance, he will contact the client service attendant to tell him/her to call them.
7- If an ambulance is required, the Senior Operations Attendant must be specific by which door the paramedics must arrive (Mann or Templeton) and relay the information to the client service attendant. This way, it will be easier for the paramedics to access the injured player.
*** IN CASE OF MAJOR SITUATIONS (heart attack, etc.):
Follow the steps mentioned above and/or send someone to the main service desk located close to the Mann entrance and specify the exact location of the person in distress (Arena, dressing room, etc). The AED is located at this location and can be administered quickly to the person in distress by one of the qualified personnel.
